Classic Wales 3 Day Trek

Building upon our successful Heart and Coast of Classic Wales this tour has “something for everyone” and to make sure we can fit it ALL in we have three days to explore the magnificent lakes and mountains and breath taking sea views.  There are plenty of tracks to keep everyone on the edge of their seats; the tarmac becomes a breathing space to take in the views before the next epic lane.

We use our specialist knowledge of the area to ensure we can maximize what can truly be described as a classic tour our itinerary will consist of the following (although subject to change to circumstances outside our control).

Friday briefing and departure for our first lane of the day the magnificent Strata Florida from here we have a number of options but most certainly we will look to visit the tracks and trails around the infamous Claerwen Dam, Elan Visitor Centre and Rhayader. Then a sprint north to our central base in Dolgellau.

Saturday departure and onwards to our first two classic lanes of the day ‘Bomber Lane’ and ‘Happy Valley’. Followed by a scenic drive around Nant y Moch before return to base late afternoon.

Sunday departure for our final day. Today our route takes us through Coed y Brenin Forest, Corwen Car Wash, Wayfarer, Allty Badi and finally our last lane of the weekend Ceririog Trail. Concluding our tour south of Chester and close to main access routes.

Due to this event’s technical nature, we insist that vehicles have both high and low range gears with manual or automatic centre locking transfer box / differentials. Standard four wheel drives may struggle and vehicles with lower front and rear bumpers are potentially going to have clearance issues. Additionally drivers should be familiar with the controls of their vehicles with a level of confidence in their use. However guidance and support will be offered throughout the course of the tour. We must insist that all terrain tyres are fitted as a bare minimum as sections of this route have areas of quite rough terrain.

This tour is suitable to those who have experienced our range of Relaxed and Scenic tours and are seeking to experience a more adventurous tours.
