What our customers say about our tours.
Really enjoyed the day, very professional tour guide, was spot on, 10 out of 10
Until (through a very indirect path), we met George. Embarrassingly, I didn't even know what 'low-box' was and certainly didn't know when to use it, or how to engage it! I used to be terrified of fords and would drive miles to avoid them - nowadays there's nothing I enjoy more than making big waves in my Landrover Discovery. Within just 4 tours with George as our guide, I'd progressed from my humble soft-roader to a Disco 2 with 2" lift. I was hooked! What can I say about George's tours - his trademark 'relaxed and scenic tours' are a great introduction to off roading; you learn gradually through the day and, before you know it, you've learned new skills without even noticing as his voice comes over the radio "it's nothing you haven't done before". The small groups are kept together by radio and you get a lot of talk for your money! Not just instructions, but a plethora of historical facts - and lots of fascinating information on landmarks and wildlife (particularly squirrels). Oh, and a giggle or two along the way as well. So, if you've ever fancied taking your 4 x 4 off-road, I can think of no better way to learn the skills, enjoy the scenery and meet a lovely bunch of people. What next for me and my D2? Well, this year I've invested quite heavily in the car in terms of protection for more technical lanes - I'm sad that it's nearly 'closed season', but it will allow me time to prep my car for off-road adventures further afield in 2018 and also get some typically Land Rover repairs done! Here's to February!
Weekend up in the Northumberland National Park with Victor the Vitara. Despite the 'technical issue' and embarrassment of being hitched up to a Discovery, had a great weekend. ATT provide a well planned trip every time, so this was no different. Easy, gentle lanes good to get to know the basics of your 4x4. Looking forward to the next one.
It was great to be back off the roads on Sunday. I very much enjoyed the tour, particularly as it took in lanes that I hadn't traveled before! The scenery was the best North Yorkshire has to offer, the company excellent and even the weather behaved itself. Joey the Labrador loved the day and particularly enjoyed the swimming opportunity in the morning! Ian and Mikey did a great job, and I can see Mikey's going to make an excellent tour leader in the future. It's clear how much expertise he's gained from his Dad over the years and I trust his instructions and guidance :). He knows his stuff!
Another fantastic day out exploring the countryside of Yorkshire and Cumbria. Thanks to George for leading and Clive for driving, not to mention Millie who is still looking for food no doubt! Thanks also to the group of people we met who helped make it so enjoyable. Still slightly scared of drones mind you. Looking forward to Ripon next month, see you all soon.
Thanks for a really enjoyable tour of the green lanes of Northumberland. It was a beautiful route and a good opportunity to try out the Discovery Sport where it was designed to go. I particularly enjoyed the local commentary on places of interest as well as the expert guidance on road conditions.
Eh up George, Tidy weekend with all as described Relaxing and Scenic. Choice of overnight hotel very acceptable. The snippets of local history added to the enjoyment and we would recommend the tour
Another excellent tour. The route had fantastic scenery and a wide variety of terrain. Gravel, mud, ruts, slopes and lots of river crossings for great photo opportunities. Our Freelander 2 continues to amaze us by overcoming everything that is thrown at it. Many thanks to Ian and Michael for doing a wonderful job of guiding us and opening the gates. Also to George for arranging a great place to stop overnight. We have now completed 5 days of touring with All Terrain Tours and will be back for more in 2018!
Another great tour with George. Well organised from the start to finish offering a fantastic way to see the wonderful Northumberland countryside especially for my Dad who was visiting from the US. Thoroughly enjoyable and a nice friendly bunch to talk tours and Land Rovers with over lunch!
I have to admit I was somewhat apprehensive about the day. I had bought the Defender in March 2016, with the intention of doing some green lanes. I did a 4 x 4 instruction course in October 2016 but had not driven off tarmac roads since. I did not want to be the person, who held up the group and tarnished their day. 300 miles was quite a way to go for a day’s tour but the description was interesting good scenery but a relaxed day. From the first meeting, I felt included in the group. The welcome briefing was informative without being off putting. The green lane sections developed gently through the day, so I felt I could manage. Although the Defender is such a capable vehicle it made things easy. The lunch stop was most convenient I had been wondering where the comfort breaks might be taken! “Tail end Charlie” Clive had a lovely dry wit, which was really encouraging. Altogether an excellent day, good value and definitely encouraging to do more green lanes. I shall be keeping an eye on the tours available in 2018.
Another brilliant day out with a great group of people. George and Clive were first class with lots of knowledge and guiding us over the tricky parts. looking forward to the next tour already. Would highly recommend these guys.
A big thank you to George and Clive for a fantastic day. Will definitely do one of these tours again and also recommend it to anyone wanting to do it. Also a big thank you to the rest of the group on the tour for their involvement and patience with each other. Great day had by all.
Thanks for a great day yesterday. It was good to see Weardale from different vantage points. The day was enjoyed by my wife (which I really had to convince, she would enjoy) and the children. It was good for me, as I got a chance to try the Discovery out for what it was built for. We appreciated all the advice and guidance throughout, to which made the day enjoyable. My wife is now asking when the next one is.
Another superb day out with All Terrain Tours. Great scenery, great area and good info from George during the day. Thoroughly enjoyable and good company.
As always a great day out, nice, relaxed and very scenic. George as always was a very informative with his knowledge of the area and fun facts, not even the rain could spoil the day. Loved the muddy puddle 😊 Roll on the next one!
As first timers to All Terrain Tours and green-laning we were unsure of what to expect. It actually didn't start so well as one of our two vehicles broke down. The guys at ATT did their every best to help us source a part but alas it was not possible so we all piled into our other vehicle and had the shared experience of the Relaxed and Scenic Tour. It was a great thing to participate in from start to finish and the positive spirit from all the other laners and guides was both friendly and involving. We learned much about the area and saw many of the Roman forts and ruins along the way. Amazing scenery and great driving! We'll be back again... with a Land Rover that works!
First massive thanks for a great day out, I thought the Relaxed & Scenic tour of the Two Tynes was exactly that, and Chrisi and I both felt the rain simply added to the fun and we felt it was a really fun day out. For me personally as an off road novice, I was amazed at how capable my vehicle is let alone what the Defenders must able to do with better tyres and ground clearance ! We also felt very welcome and everyone was really friendly and we will definitely be back on another tour!
Well, you did it yet again, guys. What a difference a week makes in terms of both weather, technicality, and conditions under 'foot'. Today's Relaxed & Scenic tour of the Two Tynes was just that, and the rain didn't put a dampener on it at all. It was 'just what it says on the tin' - relaxed and scenic. Waiting with baited breath to see the pics of us all doing that particularly splashy muddy puddle. Thanks George and Ian for putting on a great day. 🙂
Thanks for today. We did miss your usual wit and information on our surroundings but Ian did a sterling job. We both really enjoyed that tour. The second half was more fun than the first bit. I didn't even miss the fact there was no water crossings! It's amazing getting so close to nature and again, even the tarmac was nice and somewhere to go on my bike. It's always win win going with you guys.
One of the best weekends we have had so far with the ATT gang, a great mix of lanes over the two days technical, relaxed and water! From start to finish we had a fantastic time with a great group of new friends, it was great fun and eventful to say the least 😂 Thanks to George, Ian and Mikey for leading the way and the camp fires keeping us warm, looking forward to the next one! Yippee ki-yay
These weekends just keep getting better and better, we had such a great time. Thanks to George and everyone else for making it a great laugh, we feel like we're out with our mates on every trip. Can't wait for the next one!!! (Without the wheelies this time....!!)
We really enjoyed the Saturday, it was more technical in places than anything we've done so far. So a big thanks to you for the guidance in getting everyone though damage free. The lanes were great and varied and the Old Coach Road was probably the highlight as you got to see more of the area the higher you went. We regularly come to the lakes on foot so it was so good to see it from the lanes and also for Steph’s dad who couldn't walk to those places to get to see the views that we did on Saturday.
Thanks again for a great day out, and will see you on another tour, as we are looking to book another one, possibly the Northumberland weekend one. Cleaned the car out today and got rid of all the dust and put my posh wheels back on.
Absolute 5 star rating for these fab guys, after a great weekend camping and greenlaning on some of the Lakes and Wensleydale’s best offerings. Can't wait for more adventures. With special thanks to George, Ian and Mikey and to our 'guest tour guide', Phil!
Fantastic group of people with plenty fun on the adventures. Amazing job done by our host George, Ian & Mikey, and stand up to the mark Phil well done Guys you kept us all right and safe as per … … Fun and drama all the way because #adventureisntpaved lol.
Thank you again for a terrific weekend. I've grown immensely with confidence in the Jeep and taken a lesson or two in handling it. There were a couple of times I though "I'm in the wrong place". But you guided me through it with successfully! Sitting Cragen House Farm Camping after dinner and have still some local ale in my mug. I salute you for the event and would certainly like to join you again.
Had a great day out with ATT on the north Yorkshire moors tour. George was a brilliant guide, very informative and entertaining. This was our first tour with ATT and are looking forward to the next one which we have already booked.
Fantastic weekend people and lanes brilliant I would definitely recommend 100%
Awesome day out with George will be doing it again!
Thank you so much from myself and DDLRC for the fantastic day we had with you and Mark in Northumberland. All of the group couldn't get over how much they enjoyed the day. And a big thank you for the brill photographs that were uploaded so quickly. We look forward to arranging another day with all terrain tours soon.
Great day out with All Terrains Tours many thanks from Doncaster District Land Rover Club
Thank you for a great day on green lanes and bit more exciting muddy tracks. Lovely guys providing amazing 4x4 experience!
Thank you for an excellent adventure! It was my first time off-roading and I had an awesome time, and I've really gained confidence in the big old beastie. Will definitely be joining you again.
George. Thanks for another cracking day out yesterday. See you again soon.
Thanks for another brilliant day! Beautiful weather and scenery. Lots of water to splash into and like minded 4x4 owners exploring new places with George's expert guidance. Perfect! See you later in the year.
Hi George, Just to say a big thank you for a great day out, myself, Dawn and Jensen really enjoyed out first experience off road in the Freelander! Was really surprised we managed going up and down those rocky steps on one lane, I may need to look into gaining bit more clearance underneath though for next one! Lol Keep up the good work mate, hope to be out again soon!
Superb day out, this was my first adventure off tarmac but it definitely won't be my last! A great mix of achievable challenges, views and much needed advice, see you again soon!
Thanks to All Terrain Tours for such a well organised 3 day trip. Some great lanes, wonderful scenery to admire from some fantastic vantage points. You certainly learn a lot about your car, and its capabilities. Lots of time to watch others do the tricky bits before it's your turn! You are well looked after at these points, to ensure your car is in the right place on the lanes. 90's, 110's disco 3 and 4 in our group, all coped admirably. Thoroughly enjoyed myself........roll on the next one. Loads of photos to look back at remind you where you went too. Thanks to George and Mark, Simon and Ian.
Having only participated on one of your tours previously, a day on one from your relaxed and scenic category, I must admit to some trepidation whilst driving down to Wales for this 3 day tour-athon wondering if that taster may have actually unleashed enthusiasm for a longer and more technical/challenging tour that would transpire to be in excess of my relatively limited off road ability.
I should not have been concerned though as the expertise and support from you, Mark and Ian, plus the comradery of the group generally, made for an excellent tour - from realising we were still in the bar at 2am on the night before the first day right though to when we all said our farewells 3 days later and I returned home with my wife’s defender completely unscathed, much to her relief, by the weekends exploits.
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough – or for that matter any that you offer - and Ed and I already plan to repeat this specific one with you next year and of course are already signed up for Yorkshire’s Roman Roads and Beyond in August.
Thank you for an excellent weekend – hopefully my attempts as tail end gate closer were not too bad!
#ATT – probablythebest4x4greenlanetourguidecompanyintheworld!
I would just like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed our 'Classic Wales' trek. The whole group was friendly and welcoming which added to a great weekend. The trek itself was fabulous, stunning views (helped by the weather you personally organized ?) and great tracks with just the right amount of 'technical' stuff to keep it really interesting. I will certainly be back for more! Hopefully in my own vehicle next time!
Our third day out with All Terrain Tours. George was a brilliant guide for the day. He gave excellent support to navigate us safely across the terrain and point out the sights. The route itself was great with an interesting long Roman Road, river crossings, ruts and a good few ups and downs. As ever we had a brilliant time and were surprised by what terrain our Freelander could actually conquer.
Our second day out with All Terrain Tours. George and Ian are excellent guides helping us over terrain and pointing out the local sights. The route had some fantastic views and showed us that we could get places that we never imagined in our Freelander. We had a great time!
Thanks for another great day with ATT. Stunning scenery, excellent advice and guidance and good company are the norm on every ATT tour I've been on. See you for my next one in a couple of weeks!
Another great day out with All Terrain Tours. Enjoyed the route which was only enhanced by the ford at the end - thanks Mark a nice detour. Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks for today George - brilliant! Nice to take the car off the tarmac and push some buttons. Kids loved it, took them for a curry to round off their weekend
As first timers on the tour we were very impressed with the organisation of the tour and the level of information that was passed on during the day.
A great day out. The roads and weather were great. George gave out plenty of advice over the radio how to deal with the ruts and river crossings. Can`t wait for my next trip with All Terrain Tours.
Adrian and myself would just like to Thank you and all the Team at All Terrain Tours for another fantastic trip to Wales.
It truly was so much fun from beginning to end a fantastic bunch of people meeting New friends & Old. Evening catch ups of the days events telling stories of the things we got up to enjoying a few light beverages and camp fire to keep us warm.
You all really do go the extra mile to ensure everyone is well and truly taken care of during the trip and all of the combined knowledge and helpful advice from yourselves and more advanced participants to those of us still just learning is amazing.
Again thank you to all!!
Adrian & I hope to be a part of many more adventures that are not paved. 😉
Thank you to the whole All Terrain Tours crew for a superb 3-day tour of Wales. It was our 1st overnighter (3 nights actually) with ATT, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
For me, it was upping the game a bit, having done a number of 'relaxed and scenic' tours and just one slightly more challenging day trip.
Car modded and reinforced, we set off for the hotel, arriving on Thursday night for a bright and early start on Friday morning. The 1st lane of the weekend was indeed epic - it
had been one I wanted to do for a while and it was worth the wait. I'm going to order slightly more water for next time! Hubby did the most technical bit, although everyone who wanted another go did get the opportunity. I chose not to, but promise I will next time. After an interesting day, we set up camp near Dolgellau - thanks to the guys for organising such a clean, tidy and accommodating campsite (not to mention the breakfasts, which were fab!)
Day 2 consisted of a variety of lanes, some technical, some just amazingly scenic. It was another full day - a testament to the value provided by ATT.
Sunday was probably my favourite day, albeit in a slightly sad 'end of the holiday' way. What can I say about the ford?!. Then some technical stuff to really get the adrenaline going, before saying goodbyes and heading our separate ways.
The weekend has added a new element to the ATT experience for me - meeting new friends and catching up with old ones, campfire banter and eyeing up other people's mods to their cars. It was also great for me to see my previous steed, Roxanne the Rexton. She's certainly 'grown' since I last drove her in October.
Huge thanks to Mark and to Simon (mechanic and fabricator extraordinaire!), with particular thanks to George & Ian for looking after our group so well, for the calm and expert tuition and putting up with backchat over the radio!
Ditto what Scott & Xina said! I had an inkling this was going to be a great new tour for the ATT portfolio. Thanks guys once again.
Had a fantastic day out on the Rural Ripon and Reeth tour, the lanes were superb as was the weather, this was my first tour and will be booking up to do more in the near future, very laid back and well organised, perfect for a solo drive or with the family. Many thanks guys.
Thanks George and Mark! Brill day! Very relaxing and very very scenic!! Loved it thanks for helping make Scott's bday a great one 🙂 see u soon! X
Another great trip out, and the weather was spot on. As usual, great guidance, great people, just not sure about the happy birthday rendition! (Hope you had a good one Scott). This one showed the benefits of a narrow motor with a good turning circle! Some excellent photos. Next trip booked, and many more to follow. Thanks guys!
It was the second time we've done this tour and enjoyed it a little more as we knew what we were in for. Great lanes with some tricky parts. Mark was attentive and his local knowledge really came in handy with the flooded Valley.
Thank you for a great and really well organised day. Look forward to joining you again soon. ~ Thanks for a great day Saturday. Saw some beautiful scenery, had a lot of fun up and down those bumps and also met some great people. I think you put on a great relaxed day and were very understanding and patient with us beginners.
This week had some nice mixed lanes with some great scenery. As usual you and Ian were attentive and helped everyone get the best from the day. Really enjoyed seeing the moors off the beaten track and the weather I ordered came though. It would be good to go the whole 12 miles of Ruddland Rigg from Stokesley, but the start doesn't fit with Relaxed and Scenic.
Thanks for a great day. We had wind rain and lots of water. Saw parts of the dales I have never seen before. Looking forward to another trip with you.
Had a great weekend away with ATT, all around Northumberland with a great group people, would highly recommend giving this one a go. Thanks again for a great time looking forward to the next one.
Once again a great day out with a good group of people. As always Mark was on hand to help if needed and to guide us on some great lanes and through some muddy puddles.......note to husband close window before doing this!!!! Roll on the next day out ?
Your experienced ‘Shepherding’ of the group of off road vehicles got us through quite a range of topography without issue, with added bonus of the history of the area along the way via the radio. Plenty of mud on Mud off water crossings on the 2nd day.
We had a really good time on the Grand Tour. Good mix of lanes and terrains. It was interesting to see such a varied mix of vehicles and how they handled the lanes. Local knowledge as usual was top notch despite technical radio issues. Hopefully it will be a regular on the ATT calendar.
We had a lovely weekend with All Terrain Tours, Waffle and Dave really enjoyed it and I think they slept most of Monday. Sadly the Ranger is still covered in mud and fuse free. The tour itself was lovely, excellent communication between yourself and the rest of the tour; it was a good group …. 4 legged ones included. The terrain was challenging, but fun; we enjoyed the deepest river on the Sunday the most although I doubted the Rangers ability on that hair pin bend. The scenery was amazing and I really enjoyed the information on the local area you shared with us. The accommodation at the Tankerville Arms was just what you needed for a night’s rest after a hard day having fun and truly pet friendly. I'd say the tour is a must do and excellent value for money. We look forward to doing another tour…. all being well next time baby will be coming along as well. I was in awe of Denise and if I ever get my license I hope to give to a go. Lee and I would like to thank you for your help in trying to solve the fuse problem, you went above what was needed and we truly appreciate it.
1st trip of the year with ATT, and it was a little damp and breezy! But yet again, despite the weather, another great day. Nearly lost Terry in some of the deeper puddles, and it was a shame the fords were a bit violent, but next couple of trips planned already! Thanks again
Just a note to thank you for the great day out on the 25th Feb. We couldn't do much about the weather (raining), but it did make for some great 'puddles' to splash about in. Booking the first greenlaning experience was easy and quick, and made to feel very welcome from the start. Nothing was left to chance, given the level of rainfall, Mark (our group leader) ensured that any river crossings were safe before any attempt was made. I thoroughly enjoyed the day, so much so that I have booked a 3 day trip to Wales with All Terrain Tours. Thanks guys, and looking forward to Wales.
We thoroughly enjoyed the day as per usual and saw some places not seen before. We also saw some black grouse cocks which are now becoming rare, the hills above Westgate are one of the few places they can be seen in the whole of the country.
As always Mark and George put on a great day out, good company, great lanes, mud and puddles galore!!!!! Only wish the time didn't go so quick! The missus is gutted she missed it, roll on the next tour. Once again cheers for a great day ?
Another fantastic adventure out into the countryside, this time to parts of Co. Durham that took me back to my teenage years. Although the weather was a little bit interesting (we had plenty of it), it didn't dampen any spirits - only windows. Thanks to the group leaders skills and experience you gain confidence as you go along making the trip just what it says on the tin, relaxed and scenic! A great selection of lanes led us alongside reservoirs and Tea Trails as well as into the clouds. (Note to self - must buy a dash cam). Since I set off on my own for this excursion ( all of my family reneged, except for the dog and he wasn't invited!) I was once again pleased to meet a new group of friends and by the end of the trip had three amigos in my car! Thanks to Mark & George for another great day out. See you next time.
Thanks so much for guiding us along on another fabulous day. It was so much fun, your instruction and local knowledge as ever superb and enjoyable. My passengers loved it and we were all as ever amazed at not only the beauty of our region but the capability of all the cars that came along. Especially the Terios and the Discovery Sport. We will be back for sure.
Thanks to you and Mark for yet another grand day out on the 1st tour of the season. Despite the weather, we had a fabulous day. Storm Doris had dumped snow onto the high Pennines on Thursday, so the melt water was in full flow on the River Wear and the South Tyne. Ford crossings are great but, if George & Mark deem them to be unsafe, they know what they're talking about and the river crossings can wait for another day.It was a triple celebration for me - the inaugural trip (for me) in my new-to-me Discovery 2, the 1st trip of 2017 and the arrival of my much craved ATT sticker!
The route was good; particularly as we'd already done this tour the other way around last October. I chose to drive the afternoon stint, as there was a particular lane I wanted to drive. It was a fun and controlled descent in the D2. As usual, George was on hand with his radio to guide guests over the tricky bits and to provide ample information about the area and its history. As you know, we'll be back and I'm looking forward to our next day out, and more fun times during 2017 with All Terrain Tours. Rain may affect the photo's, river crossings and the picnics, but it never affects the banter, the expertise, or the fun.
Another fun filled day! With a great group of people, thanks to Mark and Simon for guiding us over the tricky bits. The day had everything you could ask for great lanes, water and lots of lovely muddy puddles the shiny ninety has never been so dirty! Only wish the day didn't go so quickly. Roll on next year for more playing out ?
Another cracking day!!!!! Every tour better than the last. Learning so much about our vehicle and its capabilities and gaining confidence in driving off road with experienced tour leaders. Can’t wait for next time. Special highlight this time driving part of the Pennine Way on by road and coming down the Steps.
Thanks to Mark and Simon and of course the day’s participants for an excellent day out. Lots of water in the river crossings (as Ellie and Sky found to their cost!) Look forward to the next outing!
This was my third trip with ATT this year and as usual it was brilliant. It was wet underfoot and our 4x4's got nicely caked in mud. Perfect! Beautiful views and I enjoyed seeing Mary Bourne's water cut sculpture. These relaxed and scenic tours are great for playing with the HDC and special programs that don't really ever get used day to day. Thanks for another great day. Looking forward to my next trip.
I'll admit that I was a little worried about how the Freelander would perform, having had a Discovery previously, but the course chosen and the guidance given on the day made sure that we were always working within the capabilities of the vehicle while still managing to access everywhere that the bigger vehicles could. In addition, the photos are great and I've added a fair few to my personal collection. We enjoyed it so much, that we have booked another couple of trips with you.
This was one of our favourite tours this year. The lanes were varied and getting to see the dales from areas you wouldn't normally get to was brilliant. As usual guidance was spot on. We have really enjoyed our first year as ATT customers and look forward too many more. Have a good well-earned rest and we will hopefully see you in 2017.
It was my first run out with my recently acquired 12yr old Discovery 2 in standard trim except for a set of General Grabbers and a rear spring conversion. Apart from the factory fitted tow hitch ploughing everything in its wake and splitting a few boulders I was quite impressed with how it performed which made for a brilliant and enjoyable day of green laning. I think I've been persuaded to add a few bits and pieces so already looking forward to the next time I can make it. Thanks for a cracking day out.
Once again we had a great day out with George, Ian and a great group of people. As always the tour had a good variety of lanes, ruts and puddles, stunning views and the very informative George was on hand to point out the landmarks and guide us on our way. Our third tour with ATT and we can't wait for the next one, my niece came for the first time and I think she'll be coming on a few more, she had a ball bouncing about. Only wish the time didn't go so quick!!
We had a great time on this tour, the guidance and feedback from Mark and everyone was again top notch. It was really good to use the Discovery for what it was made for but still be reassured that it was at minimal risk. This is the third tour we've been on so far and we are looking forward already to 2017.
It was a great day and well organized will definitely see you all on some more! Thanks for having us and let's see some more pickups!
This was our 3rd trip with ATT, and yet again well planned with some great views. Sold as a 'relaxed and scenic' tour, I'm fairly sure some of the lanes may have failed that description! Excellent fun, great people, good guidance. Little 'Terry' was again the baby of the group in the middle of the Defenders and Discos, looking forward to the next one.
Team Litt and the Hilux had a great time and will be looking to join you again.
It was a great trip and we had a really good day out.
Thanks for great day out. A good introduction to getting off road. Will be back for more. A good mix of terrain in a beautiful area.
Both of us really enjoyed the weekend, it was well planned. The lanes were excellent with plenty of help and assistance in the tricky parts but also plenty of time to take in and enjoy the environment. We will be booking on to the next Wales trek as soon as dates are announced as we enjoyed it that much.
We enjoyed the adventure with the lovely scenery and remote places!
I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to George, Mark & all the ... apprentices for a fantastic weekend in Wales not forgetting the all the other lovely people involved making a great experience!e
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, Paul and Ian for a great weekend 'again'...
The choice of lanes was great, the technical sections challenging at times, the views and scenery were fantastic,
As before, your attention to detail and preparation before the event was great. During the Trek you used your previous experience to great effect; sharing it amongst all of us, always willing to help and lend a hand when necessary, nothing was too much trouble, and coupled with plenty of laughs and good banter throughout the weekend... Thanks Paul for keeping the boys happy and interested.
It was great to meet up with good friends from our previous Trek, at the same time meeting and making more new ones on this one, all in all another fantastic weekend...
We are all looking forward to the next one...
We would like to thank yourself, Mark and helpers for a fantastic weekend. The drives were brilliant and Allan is over the moon with the difference in the performance of the Surf, he is still as high as a kite, and the camp fire banter is not to be missed, also all the new friends you make on these trips, looking forward to our next trip. Once again a B I G T H A N K Y O U to A L L
We would like to say a massive thankyou to yourself and Mark for organising one of our best tours yet. As you know we have not had our Defender long and I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience driving off-road thanks to All Terrain Tours. Me and Kelly had a fantastic time and it was a pleasure meeting you, Mark and all the crew. We would not hesitate in booking another tour with you guys in the future. Please keep in touch and let us know when you intend in booking the next UK tour.
My son Daniel and myself had a fantastic time on your Northumberland South of the Border tour. Some of the Fords we crossed were breath taking and exciting. It's just amazing what a 4x4 can do, and your tour certainly put my defender through its paces. I look forward to my next tour, many thanks Chris
Thanks once again for a fun and educational day green laning. My car is fairly standard; it only has AT tyres on it so to see some of the things it can take in its stride is amazing! My Wife and Father in law really enjoyed the day too. My only problem is that after you explained what a "Drover" is my father in law then played it against me on Words with friends for 50 points, thanks for that!! I uploaded a video showing your awesome instruction and thanks for you sharing the top quality photos you took I now have more for my albums. Once again thank you!
Tracey & I had a brilliant day out on Sunday exploring parts of Northumberland and the Cheviot Hills with you and Mark and a great group of people. The route was a fantastic mix of big scenic views and countryside with lots of interesting lanes. As a relative novice to green lane driving I really enjoyed the variety of surfaces-just sufficient to keep you concentrating and alert whilst still enjoying the surroundings. And who doesn't love driving through a ford or several ? ! ?
I'm always surprised at the terrain you can negotiate in a sedate way in a Land Rover and have gained confidence each trip out with yourselves. Really appreciate the hard work you guys put in to making the tours great days out. Looking out for the new dates and forward to more exploring soon.
Our second tour and as the first does exactly what it says on the website! A great day out in the countryside, with beautiful scenery and plenty of water to splash though, for me the fords were the best bit, for him everything was just perfect!! A fantastic day out with good company and as always the very informative and funny George. Can't wait for the next one.
A comprehensive tour of Northumberland National Park area. Plenty of fording which unfortunately didn’t manage to wash off the cow muck collected crossing the fields. Now I know why when mixed with mud it makes such good building material in some parts of the world. Another enjoyable day which seemed to pass just far too quickly, even after 6 + hours, leaving you wanting just a couple more lanes while the sun was shining.
Big thanks to All Terrain Tours and to George for leading us on another fantastic trek – this time around the Cheviot Hills. As usual, we were all linked by walkie-talkie radio and, from the start, the craic was up to its usual high standard. George had already asked me if I was feeling confident – once again, I was driving an ‘underdog.'; this time a standard Ssangyong Rexton van, with normal road tyres. Other drivers had Defenders, including a Twisted Edition, Discoveries and the like.
We queued up down a steep, bending bank and listened with (I admit it!) some trepidation, as George’s instructions were thorough and clear. When we got to the ford, we realised why. The exit wasn’t a muddy or stony track, but a series of rocky slabs. Wet rocky slabs. Standard road tyres remember and standard height truck. That was so much fun! In George’s words, we didn’t put a tyre wrong.
The afternoon saw us crossing the Cheviots, which I loved. I’ve always wanted to climb hills – and I’ve always been looking for a smart way of so doing. What’s better is it’s legal too!
I consider All Terrain Tours to be wonderful value for money. The Relaxed & Scenic tours are just that, but usually, have just a cheeky little twist to give the customers a chance to learn one or two technical skills.
Great day, great guide, great scenery and my Defender girl not quite as pristine as usual ... she did a great job. So impressed with what she can do. Will look forward to another tour x
The Yorkshire rocket tour was the first time off roading for Daniel and myself , we had a fantastic day, Mark our tour guide was very professional. The green lane experience was amazing and we can't wait for our next adventure. Many thanks.
We had a fantastic time on both the events we have attended so far. At £50 for the day it is extremely reasonable for such a jam packed day of off roading fun. I like how, no matter what your level of experience, every expectation is met with excitement while preserving your vehicles health with breath taking scenery all in the mix. It is exactly what I am looking for out of an off road event and because it is organised I feel more comfortable that everything is above board and routes catered for so I don't have to worry if I'm trespassing on someone's land or breaking the law. I'm also loving the HD action pictures posted so I can look back on the day and relive it all over again from a different perspective which is great because, like most 4x4 owners, I am completely obsessed and like looking and my Landy as much as driving it!!
Can't wait for our next adventure!!
Many thanks
Another great day out, if you have a 4X4 you should try a day out with these guys, you'll be amazed what you and your car can do. It's really good fun too, whatever the weather. Thanks again Mark, trying to persuade wife a weekend in Wales would be a good idea.
Fantastic day out in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Well organised, lots of pictures and relaxed, gentle driving. Great time look forward to more outings.
Great run out on the Yorkshire Rocket with Mark and a great bunch of likeminded people. Thanks for a great day with lots of water and interesting technical bits... Even the gate !!!
I wanted to write and thank you for the trip last weekend. We all had a fantastic time, the guys loved it, Strata and Happy Valley were amazing. Thank you for organising it all, and taking care of everything, including £1 a pint on Friday! We look forward to another trip with you next year.
What can I say? Awesome, awesome day out with great scenery, brilliant tracks, a great tour guide, good company and Dave & Bryn the dogs to get to know too. Seriously, I can't recommend All Terrain Tours enough for their craic, expertise, friendliness and respect for the countryside and other road and lane users. We'll be back; maybe on one of their more technical days soon.
We had a lovely day exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and what a great way to officially welcome our Ranger to the family and its virgin outing. Clare and George were brilliant, could not have asked for better hosts and guides. Great value for money already booked on October's tour. Not just a lad’s tour, but great family adventure and tour great for any 4X4 vehicle. Looking forward to the next one.
Had a great trip on 3/7/16 beacons and railways. George was fab and very informative along route. The scenery was truly stunning and nothing was too much trouble. He was assisted by his lovely daughter Clare. We can highly recommend this trip, one not to be missed. See you again very soon ?
What a fantastic day once again with George and All Terrain Tours! Great mix of lanes, nice amount of mud, steep climbs and drops and lots of water filled fords. We even got the free winching lesson, complete with All Terrain Tours getting wet feet, boots and trousers. Congratulations once again on a successful, satisfying superb event. Highly recommend this tour.
Myself and Matt really enjoyed the Beacon, Fords and Railway tour on Saturday. Great guidance yet again, and looking forward to the pics. Excellent day out, Terry now more confident in the water. Will join you again soon! Thanks.
George....been to Hadrian’s wall many times but this gave us a new perspective on it. Especially riding on the Roman pavements. The cotton grass on the moors was magical.... see pictures. Giving us a taste to try something more demanding next time as have great confidence in guide. Stuart and Lynne. PS the Father’s day Gift was a lovely idea for the men!
Sunday’s tour was thoroughly enjoyable. From being well organised and led by George and his daughter, to the other guys on the trip making it a really friendly atmosphere. Superb way to spend the day and see bits of the countryside on our doorstep not usually seen. Looking to forward to the next one I can make.
Had a great day. A very relaxed and scenic tour and the perfect way to spend a Sunday. George always makes sure that our 4x4's are not going to get damaged or scratched (and I'm very precious about mine), but most importantly he makes sure that we are aware of any dangers at tricky junctions or approaching cyclists/walkers. This makes the day a very enjoyable experience. There is always expert advice over the radio on negotiating the lanes and interesting fact about the sights we see along the way. This is my second tour with allterriantours.co.uk and I travel from North Wales to do them. Looking forward to my next one later on in the year.
Great day out. We really enjoyed ourselves throughout the trip. Got to see some beautiful countryside!
Me (Allan), Jan (the boy named) Sue and Heidi had a brilliant day with an excellent guide, who really knows his stuff and with a great group of people, cheers George and thanks to Clare for her terrific pictures.
Had a fantastic day out with you the hubby the sis and the little dog, looking forward to the next one, seen some photos, brill, Clare your pics are great, keep up the good work and thank you for my gingerbread biscuit. And George I thought the father’s day gift was wonderful a very nice touch and yes Allan enjoyed it. Once again thanks for a brilliant day.
Take care see you soon
Love Jan x
The Yorkshire's Roman Roads & Beyond Relaxed and Scenic Tour was absolutely ideal for anyone wanting a taste of green laning or with a vehicle that they really don't want to damage. The route was superb going through some amazing countryside with fantastic views. The difficulty of the route was at just the right level, testing us and our vehicles just a little bit but without testing us too much. George was very aware of the different capabilities of the different vehicles and of the limits of width and ground clearance and frequently stopped to guide us through or over tricky bits. He had a lot of respect for the countryside and other green lane users. George's assistant was also very helpful, opening and closing gates, always with a smile. We would certainly consider booking another relaxed and scenic tour.
Thank you George. What a fantastic trip. Great views, great company , fabulous lanes and the pace was just right. Great guiding and knowledge of the area and the lanes. Can't wait for our July trip!
Another great day out showing the true beauty of the English country side (the weather helped of course).
We both had a fantastic day and will be deffo coming again. Thanks very much!
Thanks for another enjoyable day yesterday we both enjoyed our jaunt into the countryside. The weather was near perfect for it as well!
Thanks for letting Terry join you in Richmond. We enjoyed it all; my favourite bit was when we went through the ford where I got wet trousers (while taking photographs). Thanks for your patience with Terry, see you again soon.?
Just want to say we had a fantastic time on Saturday's tour, from start to finish it was relaxed and scenic just as it said on the web site. It was great for us as beginners, to be honest I came along with Steve as he has been wanting to do a tour for a while, but it's not really my thing but I'm happy to say I'm now a convert and can't wait for the next one!
Steve's best bit was the rocky technical lane, mine was going through the ford. The whole day was very well organised, fun and informative with a great route and lanes. Both Ian and yourself made us feel very at ease and able to take the day at our own pace and never once did we feel we were holding anybody up. Once again thanks for a great day!
Thanks for a great day yesterday. We really enjoyed it. We'll definitely be joining you again for another tour.
Well it was as expected, absolutely brill. George and Mark were very professional as usual , we all had a good time , scenery was great, we had a good laugh at George's expence sorry George; only following Marks instructions (ha ha) . See you all soon!
Owen and I enjoyed the day very much, all the lanes were very good to drive, some nice tricky sections and water crossings to keep things interesting. Good value too for a full days driving. I'll be looking at doing another day soon.
Another great trek, new faces great company, 6 years with all terrain tours now one of the best tours yet brilliant weekend chaps
Absolutely a fantastic weekend, the whole group were great company, if anybody is thinking of going greenlaneing you will have a fab time these guys are very professional , we've already booked the next one
Thank you for a Great weekend experience...a Great choice of lanes, with some Great company...
We enjoyed every minute, each lane gave us a different challenge for both us and our Disco 4. Some of the challenges we could not have done without your help, guidance and experience and despite the additional problems with having to winch one of the vehicles in the strong wind and rain on the second day, both You and Paul still kept your smiles and sense of humour, nothing was too much trouble. Your customer service was Excellent. We are looking forward to joining you on another tour later in the year, thanks again.
Another great trek, new faces great company, 6 years with all terrain tours now one of the best tours yet brilliant weekend chaps
Cracking weekend George and impeccable service and care as always.
What a fantastic day out. George and Paul provided us with an excellent experience, showing us around some stunning lanes, giving guidance through the tougher sections, and plenty of laughs and good banter along the way. You can tell they care about what they do and their commitment to sustainable driving is evident in every action they take. I only have one regret and that's not being able to do the whole weekend! 10/10 I will be booking onto the next one I can get out to!
Both Ian & I had a very enjoyable day and found your additional commentary and helpful handling hints. For Ian & I to enjoy green lanes together we are probably more relaxed and scenic. (Ian worries about the vehicle to much or is it my driving!)
The whole day was amazing. Lucy, Gaz and I were really impressed with your local knowledge of both the history of the area and of the roads and green lanes. Thank you for such a good day. We will certainly be back for more!!
On our Facebook page ... ... George, Absolutely loved today. Thank you so much!! We had such an amazing day! Loved every second! Thanks very much
Great day George thanks . I will book another one soon
We really enjoyed ourselves yesterday - thanks for a great day! The Freelander did us proud. We coincidentally went past the lane for the ford crossing on our way to Pendle so we turned round and Jamie had a go - great fun!
Just a quick email to say how much I enjoyed the day on Saturday. The little bits of local information on the radio were great. I never felt that there was any danger of damaging the car, but it was still exciting and lots of fun. Many thanks again. I'll see you on another one soon.
Facebook feedback ... ... Took a bit of a further scenic tour back home to Wales. Just got home at 9:30pm. What's great day. Had great fun and the discovery behaved itself after its little electric strop halfway round
We had an absolutely brilliant day. Mark was great, very helpful and patient with rookies like us. Was quite amazed at what the jeep proved to be capable of, also it came back in one piece!!! Again thanks very much. Will be booking another tour soon.
Thanks so much for making all your pictures available. They are super and I now have the puddle splash picture as my screensaver.
I thought that the tour was absolutely fabulous and a great introduction to greenlaning. The whole family is just buzzing about the day and I haven't whooped and hollered so much in a long time. It was so professionally organised and we were so appreciative of all your advice and guidance.
We will definitely be doing that again!
Thanks for a great day. Oscar and Iris are already asking me when we're going on the next trip!! I think the photos on Facebook are excellent.
On 21st March, we did our first tour with All Terrain Tours. It was the Yorkshire Moors, Dales, Beacon and Railways event, and we would like to thank George, Steve and Clare (for the cakes). The atmosphere was so relaxed, and the route was easy, beautiful and with a testing finish. There was good banter, and some interesting chat about features and countryside. There were some novices in our group, and they were nervous at times, but always finished each lane with big grins. Credit to George for making the day so pleasant, and so memorable.
The day was fantastic, brilliant views over North Yorkshire moors, the guys were great too really knew there stuff, I would defiantly recommend this to anyone who like me wanted to see how the landrover managed when put on the rough stuff.
These must be some of the best greenlanes in the country, stunning views and some challenging climbs with a few water crossings thrown in. Despite being the only 110 on the day, with a little guidance from Mark we managed to keep up with the 90s and never once felt there was any risk of damaging the vehicle. I would recommend this company to anybody that wants to have a go at greenlaning, they must be doing something right as most people return for more of the same, and I will be one of them. Thanks for a great day out.
My second time out with All Terrain Tours and an even better day than last time! Mark and Clive were on hand again to point me in the right direction and this route was interesting, sometimes challenging and always scenic. Once again my not so agile Defender 110 returned home with no permanent battle scars just a bit of Dales muck. Thanks again for another brilliant day on great lanes with good company.
I would like to say a big thanks to Mark and team for a fantastic day of greenlanes. Rhys and I had a great time. I was very happy with the tour as before hand I was quite nervous lined up along side a group of Landrovers in our Suzuki. The Jimny performed beyond my expectations and at the end of the day there was not a scratched panel to be seen on any vehicle. A lot of fun was had with a group of wonderful people.
Thanks again to Mark and Clive for a super day out with a great mix of lanes that the wet weather had made even more interesting. The planning that goes into these days is evident with the smooth way we move around and words of advise at appropriate moments... Looking forward to the next one.
Another cracking day in good company as always. Doing the 'Discover Greenlaning' route in the opposite direction gave a whole host of new challenges. Best route ever and not a scratch... which saves on T-Cut.
It was once said that playing guitar is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. WRONG - the last lane of the day certainly got the adrenalin pumping and was a fitting finale to another tremendous day out.
Thanks to Mark and Clive for another excellent day out with an interesting finish. The whole day had some great lanes together with water crossings and last lane had some really interesting bits and even gave me the opportunity to use the winch in anger!
Looking forward to the next event!!
