County Durham Rambler (Relaxed and Scenic) Tour
Sunday 9 July 2017
Feedback from this event:
I have to admit I was somewhat apprehensive about the day. I had bought the Defender in March 2016, with the intention of doing some green lanes. I did a 4 x 4 instruction course in October 2016 but had not driven off tarmac roads since. I did not want to be the person, who held up the group and tarnished their day. 300 miles was quite a way to go for a day’s tour but the description was interesting good scenery but a relaxed day. From the first meeting, I felt included in the group. The welcome briefing was informative without being off putting. The green lane sections developed gently through the day, so I felt I could manage. Although the Defender is such a capable vehicle it made things easy. The lunch stop was most convenient I had been wondering where the comfort breaks might be taken! “Tail end Charlie” Clive had a lovely dry wit, which was really encouraging. Altogether an excellent day, good value and definitely encouraging to do more green lanes. I shall be keeping an eye on the tours available in 2018.
Another brilliant day out with a great group of people. George and Clive were first class with lots of knowledge and guiding us over the tricky parts. looking forward to the next tour already. Would highly recommend these guys.
A big thank you to George and Clive for a fantastic day. Will definitely do one of these tours again and also recommend it to anyone wanting to do it. Also a big thank you to the rest of the group on the tour for their involvement and patience with each other. Great day had by all.
Thanks for a great day yesterday. It was good to see Weardale from different vantage points. The day was enjoyed by my wife (which I really had to convince, she would enjoy) and the children. It was good for me, as I got a chance to try the Discovery out for what it was built for. We appreciated all the advice and guidance throughout, to which made the day enjoyable. My wife is now asking when the next one is.
