County Durham Rambler (Relaxed and Scenic) Tour
Saturday 25 February 2017
Feedback from this event:
1st trip of the year with ATT, and it was a little damp and breezy! But yet again, despite the weather, another great day. Nearly lost Terry in some of the deeper puddles, and it was a shame the fords were a bit violent, but next couple of trips planned already! Thanks again
Just a note to thank you for the great day out on the 25th Feb. We couldn't do much about the weather (raining), but it did make for some great 'puddles' to splash about in. Booking the first greenlaning experience was easy and quick, and made to feel very welcome from the start. Nothing was left to chance, given the level of rainfall, Mark (our group leader) ensured that any river crossings were safe before any attempt was made. I thoroughly enjoyed the day, so much so that I have booked a 3 day trip to Wales with All Terrain Tours. Thanks guys, and looking forward to Wales.
We thoroughly enjoyed the day as per usual and saw some places not seen before. We also saw some black grouse cocks which are now becoming rare, the hills above Westgate are one of the few places they can be seen in the whole of the country.
As always Mark and George put on a great day out, good company, great lanes, mud and puddles galore!!!!! Only wish the time didn't go so quick! The missus is gutted she missed it, roll on the next tour. Once again cheers for a great day ?
Another fantastic adventure out into the countryside, this time to parts of Co. Durham that took me back to my teenage years. Although the weather was a little bit interesting (we had plenty of it), it didn't dampen any spirits - only windows. Thanks to the group leaders skills and experience you gain confidence as you go along making the trip just what it says on the tin, relaxed and scenic! A great selection of lanes led us alongside reservoirs and Tea Trails as well as into the clouds. (Note to self - must buy a dash cam). Since I set off on my own for this excursion ( all of my family reneged, except for the dog and he wasn't invited!) I was once again pleased to meet a new group of friends and by the end of the trip had three amigos in my car! Thanks to Mark & George for another great day out. See you next time.
Thanks so much for guiding us along on another fabulous day. It was so much fun, your instruction and local knowledge as ever superb and enjoyable. My passengers loved it and we were all as ever amazed at not only the beauty of our region but the capability of all the cars that came along. Especially the Terios and the Discovery Sport. We will be back for sure.
Thanks to you and Mark for yet another grand day out on the 1st tour of the season. Despite the weather, we had a fabulous day. Storm Doris had dumped snow onto the high Pennines on Thursday, so the melt water was in full flow on the River Wear and the South Tyne. Ford crossings are great but, if George & Mark deem them to be unsafe, they know what they're talking about and the river crossings can wait for another day.It was a triple celebration for me - the inaugural trip (for me) in my new-to-me Discovery 2, the 1st trip of 2017 and the arrival of my much craved ATT sticker!
The route was good; particularly as we'd already done this tour the other way around last October. I chose to drive the afternoon stint, as there was a particular lane I wanted to drive. It was a fun and controlled descent in the D2. As usual, George was on hand with his radio to guide guests over the tricky bits and to provide ample information about the area and its history. As you know, we'll be back and I'm looking forward to our next day out, and more fun times during 2017 with All Terrain Tours. Rain may affect the photo's, river crossings and the picnics, but it never affects the banter, the expertise, or the fun.
